Historic hotel in Umbria
Situated a few kilometres from the historic centre of Spoleto, in a splendid position that overlooks the town and the Umbrian valley, surrounded by eight hectares of natural meadows and woods, the Villa has been ably restored by Giovanna Milani and Luigi Capobianchi to be turned into one of the most refined and elegant boutique hotels in Italy.
Built in 1880, the villa was the country house of the architect Giovanni Battista Milani, one of the most important exponents of Roman architecture of the early part of the twentieth century , who enlarged and furnished it according to the classical-renaissance characteristics of the time, enriched it with his own refined taste and passion for ancient art.
In December 1999, Villa Milani was awarded by Regione Umbria the status of “Residenza d’Epoca” (Historic hotel).
Only some particular Hotels can boast of this title. Umbria region identifies as “Residenze d’epoca” those hotels that have an environmental setting of particular value - historic, natural or with regard to landscape, equipped with period furniture or of particular artistic interest and that are suitable for a high quality reception.
